Wrap field trip
On our wrap field trip we went to Harrisonburg to look at the anommoeter go up at one of the elementary schools. After that we went to a warehouse that built the windmills. There we learned how they were assembled and what they are made of. It was interesting to see all of the different designs so that they could see wich windmill would get the most energy. I learned that the size of the windmill that we were going to put up was actually very small, so I don't understand why it was rejected.

Sex trafficking response
Sex trafficing has always irked me. It makes me upset to think that human beings can be so malicious. How desperate do you have to be to sell your own child for some pornography or alcohol? Do these people really love their children? Most mothers and fathers would die to save their children, and they would do anything to keep them safe. Do these parents feel remorse after they realized what they've dont to their child's life? It's not fair to the kids. They won't know how loved and treasured they are. These kids are precious just like any other, and they never deserved this kind of treatment. It hurts my heart knowing this is going on in other countries. If I had a child I would never let that happen. I would die before anyone put their hands on my kid. So what is going on in all the other parents heads?

Wrap question evolution
My question began with why can some people draw and others not? What makes people have that talent? Is it the eyes or the brain? After I found that it is in the brain. the message sent from the eyes to the brain prossesses different. then I narrowed my question down to is there a way to help people to draw? Can they be taught? I found out that people can be taught to draw, but they have to follow certain tests. After I found that out my question is now, will the series of chosen tests improve the ability to draw?

Wrap city code
The world is ready for an innovative way of getting energy. Some of those are wind, solar, and water. Waynesboro High School students have decided that waynesboro is ready to join this new way of getting energy. The world is running out of natural resources, like coal and oil. So what are we going to do if we run out? We would have to build an alternate energy source. But why wait till its to late? If we start being efficient now, it will save us money and prepare us for the future. The world is changing fast and we shouldn't get left behind. So what do you do if the code is preventing us from putting up an alternate energy source? You change the code. The code is old and not meant for these new changes.

Wintergirls sound track
Liz Thurston
1. Never To Late -- Three Days Grace
I chose this song because its about someone trying to commit suicide and there is someone trying to save them. This is the song that goes with my climax. In the book she cuts herself because she doesn't think she's skinny enough. But the last time she cuts herself she's trying to die. And her parents rush her to the hospital trying to save her life. No matter how many times she gets under 90 lbs, passes out, or cuts too deep her friends and family still try to keep her alive. So this song shows the love of friends and family going through a hard situation with a friend.
“Who wants to recover? It took me years to get that tiny. I wasn't sick; I was strong.”
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls p.28
2. The Last Night -- Skillet
I chose this song because its about the life of a girl who wants to kill herself, but at the same time doesn't. she struggles with wanting to live and wanting to die. There is always going to be someone to help her. It shows the love of her family and friends for her, but at the same time they chastise her and try and make her feel guilty.
“I want to go to sleep and not wake up, but I don't want to die. I want to eat like a normal person eats, but I need to see my bones or I will hate myself even more and I might cut my heart out or take every pill that was ever made.”
"Your body wants to live, Lia, even if your head doesn't"
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls p.234
3. When She Cries -- Britt Nicole
This song represents the protagonist. In the book her family and everyone around her is blaming her for her best friends death. She feels alone and it's seems that nobody understands what she is going through. It's a rough time, but she wants to live. She wants the want to stop somewhere in her. But the habit of anorexia is 20 times stronger.
“You’re not dead, but you’re not alive, either. You’re a wintergirl, Lia-Lia, caught in between the worlds. You’re a ghost with a beating heart. Soon you’ll cross the border and be with me. I’m so stoked. I miss you wicked.”
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls p.195-196
4. Melting (Interlude) -- Flyleaf
I chose this song to be my theme. The song sounds like complete chaos. It represents her life. She is going down a downward spiral so fast she cant stop, but the thing is she doesn't want to stop. Everything is a mess with her. Her eating disorder effects everyone who loves her and her thinking abilities.
“The number doesn't matter. If I got down to 070.00, I'd want to be 065.00. If I weight 010.00, I wouldn't be happy until I got down to 005.00. The only number that would ever be enough is 0. Zero pounds, zero life, size zero, double-zero, zero point. Zero in tennis is love. I finally get it.”
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls p.220
5. Dead Flowers -- Demon Hunter
I chose this song be because it represents the loss of a love one. In the book the main characters best friend dies. They have a deadly contest to see who can be the thinnest. When they both take it too far, one of them suffers alone and passes away. She has to live her life without her best friend. Now that the game is over, she is stuck in her bad habits. She feels haunted by her deceased bestie and can't get away from feeling guilty for it.
The final eight minutes march past in silent formation until the timer on her desk dings. "So, can I go to the funeral?" I ask. She reaches for her shoes. "Do you understand why you want to go to the funeral?" To make sure they bury her in concrete so she'll leave me alone. "I feel that I need some closure about this. " "And the funeral will provide that? Yes, that's what I just said. "I've given it a lot of thought." The clock ticks by two bonus minutes. I roll the hair of strangers into a ball. "It's a good idea." She slips her shoes on and stands up. "But have one of your parents go with you. Nobody should ever go to a funeral alone."
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls p. 118

mr. tylers blog
the math of sports and games is a great class. its unlike any math class that ive ever been in. when we first started this class i really didnt know what to expect. so its not like i had any expectations for it, because it didnt know how it was goin to work. the only thing i dont really like is sometimes not getting enough help when i need it. but thats understandable considering there is 17 of us and only 1 teacher. the topic is intersting but doesnt interest me. its not something that i really would want to purse with my life, but its cool to understand how to do the things that we are learnig. the class has showed me how we really use math in the real world that effects something so big as sports (which almost everyone in the country cares about). i would never have thought to do that or even researched it. the difference between past math classes and this one is,1. we are actually learning something that i dont think is stupid. 2. it has a point and a purpose. and 3. its way more fun.

Questions
1.Based on the results presented, do you agree or disagree with the study's accuracy?
Yes, I think that it is correct. These kids might ave dealt with rejection, but being bullied and teased is in every case and the most primary.
2.What other questions would you explore, if possible? I would study their childhood. We're they raised like this? Or born this way?
3.What does this study tell you about our own school? It tells those people who tease and bully others that they better watch what they say. They think its cool or funny to bully people but if this happened to our school they could be a main target and end up getting others hurt.
